U Play Ukulele too!

Presented by: Matt Carpenter & Kellee Green

For: Years 4-6

Attendees: 16

Day: Wednesday

The Ukulele has seen a resurgence of popularity in mainstream music over the past few years.

The “Uke’s” size and tone lends itself to being an ideal instrument when introducing popular music styles such as Folk, Country and Rock. This workshop will briefly explain the history of the Ukulele, tunings, how to play chords and single-note melodies.

Students will be given the opportunity to practise their new skills by preparing their part in a Ukulele Ensemble performance at the end of the workshop. For students who have experience in playing guitar, we also look at how to convert between the two.

Rock on!!!! Or should we say………… UKE on!!!!

What to Bring: Pencil, eraser and guitar pick (not essential).
